Kurt has been watching and digesting movies for his entire adolescent and adult lives, but writing about them rather infrequently until recently. Movies are the one entertainment/interest/means of catharsis that has withstood his 2.5+ decades. Kurt owes his passion to his father who took him to the movies quite often when he was young; when they weren't at the theater, Kurt was torturing his dad, dragging him around Blockbuster Video for hours on end.
Kurt also owes a great deal of credit for his joy of movies to his uncles. His Uncle John always loves discussing movies, but is a selective and difficult to please audience that molded Kurt into being skeptical of a film's intentions. When Kurt was having a hard time adapting to life as a freshman at a certain Western Pennsylvania University, his Uncle Alex was happy to take him to the movies twice a month, unwittingly providing Kurt with an invaluable means of escape. And of course there is Kurt's Uncle Joe, who in addition to giving him the gift of being able to see any movie that he wants for free - stoked the flames of Kurt's passion, starting when he was very young.
Kurt finally got around to setting up this website in early 2016, after a decade of flirting with the idea. He hopes to post here frequently, and would be overly humbled if you took the time to read his thoughts and share your own. See you at the movies.
